The Habitat Skillet Toss is back at Greene’s Applefest

GREENE – As foliage begins to blush along the tree lines marking the launch of yet another beautiful fall in Chenango County, a quintessential event will be well under way to help ring some festive autumn spirit.

This upcoming Saturday, September 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the smells of the season and an assemblage of various craft and vendors will take center stage at the twenty-eighth year of the Greene Applefest.

The event which typically sees upwards of 15,000 attendants is sponsored again this year by the First United Methodist Church of Greene, the event sets the tone for the change of seasons, and serves as a swift reminder that the holiday season is not far off.

Back by popular demand, the Chenango County Habitat for Humanity (CCHH) be set-up at the Ball Flats with their brand “heavy metal” sport – the Habitat Skillet Toss.

The ever popular competition of both brawn and technique has gained steam over the years and is a fun way to raise funding for the CCHH house builds.
